Grab yourself a cuppa and join Sylvia Birkhead and The OT Link for online Couch CPD.

This course is divided up into three video modules.

Follow the links provided to watch the video presentations. You can watch it in parts or all at once, but you will need to complete the viewing of the video on the website before you can complete the quizzes.

The Presentation slides and a Preview of the Quiz questions is provided in the “Lesson Materials” tab on each lesson page.

Once you have completed the presentation viewing, answer the respective quiz. You only have three attempts at the quiz, so be sure to check your answers. If you score above 70% on the Quiz you may move on to the next step in the course.

On completion of the course and quizzes, kindly fill in the course evaluation so that we can monitor the quality of this CPD activity. This is an HCPSA requirement.

Once you have completed the evaluation and marked all tasks complete, you will be able to access your CEU certificate on your My Courses Profile.

According to the new HPCSA requirements – we will submit your course attendance information directly to HPCSA. You no longer need to do this. We do just recommend that you keep a copy of your certificate for your own records. Your course completion certificates will be stored on your profile indefinitely to ensure you still have a record of your CPD activities should you encounter any problems.

Please also ensure that your HPCSA number is correctly entered in your “My Account” details, with no spaces between digits. Incorrect HPCSA numbers will not upload to their system and you will need to submit your certificates manually.

This course is accredited by the OT Professional Body and the certificate can be submitted as part of your portfolio to support your personal Professional Body Registration.

You have until 31 December 2026 to complete this course. Thereafter the course and content will expire.

We hope you enjoy this online course!

We look forward to your feedback and questions.

Lovely sensory ideas

Great ideas for working with dementia clients. Would have liked more visual slides as difficult listening to one voice for such a long time without any visual support to encourage focus.

I found the course very informative and are looking forward to exploring the other authers and references that were provided. Visuals were interesting and applied well. I again realised the need for more Occupational Therapists in the field of geriatrics!
