What does your heritage look like in occupation today?
A braai with family? 🔥
Cooking a traditional family recipe?
Music, dancing or storytelling?
Wearing something that connects you to your culture?
Sharing traditions with your children?
Simply spending time with the people and community you belong to?
On Heritage Day, we’re reminded that culture isn’t only something we have — it is woven into what we do, how we do it, who we do it with, and the meaning we attach to it.
In a country as beautifully diverse as South Africa, that’s an important reflection for us as Occupational Therapists too.
💚 Do we make enough space for culture, identity and meaning when we think about participation?
This OT Week, let’s keep occupation at the heart of what we do.
Participation matters. Meaning matters. Culture matters.
